reocurring imagery/recyled poems

-->
Its early morning the buzz of an alarm clock see’s Levi stolen from a dream, he sits and ponders, sharp images run threw his head, a fragmented story, no beginning no end.  He looks at the clock reminding himself once more that it’s to early to be up. The tile floor is freezing on his feet he hops along, his best attempt to keep off the cold.

He finds himself in the shower memorized by the steam, its playing tricks on him, now he’s focused on his dream, on patterns hidden in the fog before his eyes.  His thoughts whirl away like a autumn leaf before a storm lifting from his mind like the sun coming out of the clouds and just like a good song time passes quick. He find himself deep within a forest hues of orange, red and yellows stretch over the horizon like a yawn, a bird calls out, its echo moves along the trees like a whisper as if nature was communicating with itself. He carries on forward weary of his direction, a few leaves get caught in a breeze, he lets their path choose his direction, almost in trance he hopeless follows in between trees, over a hill until suddenly the wind drops, the leaves fall as if they had just taken their last breath.

Levi makes his way to a small clearing in the distance, his feet heavy he carries on forward snapping the branches under his boots. His eyes seem strained, his energy low his eyes begin to flutter as if the sun has turned into a strobe light, his mind drifts in and out just like a solider with a fatal wound on the beaches of Normandy, his mind grasps at the little light left refusing to let go, but his mind begs for black, for thoughtlessness.

Levi falls to his knees he rubs his eyes, his last attempt to save his mind from darkness, he takes a deep breath in, and before the air can escape from his lungs he is enveloped in black.  A kaleidoscope of colours fill Levis mind with a distorted image, it twists and turns bending not quite breaking, it playing tricks on him, an instant mirage born from a previous thought, laid waste by the darkness that has taken over his body.  A big exhale and the air his lungs was hiding pushes out his mouth like a fast moving train, he is awake back in reality and still in the shower, the water now cold as the ground he hopped along in the morning has fully awaken him, the stream now gone he rubs his eyes once more and gets out of the shower. Fog covers the mirror his index finger draws shapes and patterns uncovering a true life distorted image with each stroke more of his reflection is reveled. He closes his eyes for just a second and when he opens them he is back in the forest on his back yellow seeps down from the sky soaking him in warm light, the suns rays shine through him giving him the energy to carry on.

Levi is back on his feet making his way to the clearing ahead, the wind has caught a few more leaves they fall beneath his feet colouring the ground in a beautiful collage. The trees begin to open up and he can now hear the faintness of water, Levi carries onward unsure of what lays ahead. He is almost at the clearing the quiet hum of the water has now turned into a roar a endless stream of water falls from above crashing into a pool of beauty and once again Levi’s focus remains on the fog raising up from the bottom of the waterfall, he begins to drift away again but catches himself and then he remembers by not remembering how on earth did he get here.

A deep panic sets in, followed by a shortness of breath. He looks around aimlessly punch drunk the opening in the clearing is now gone, everything looks the same, he spins like a top, circling looking for anything that would have any resemblance maybe if I trace my steps… He franticly searches his pockets he pulls out a tightly rolled joint and a single match. No wallet no I.D he begins to question who he is, if the person he thought he was ever existed, a little shaken he takes a seat by the waterfall he has always been drawn to water as long as he can remember, there was something calming about it, Levi begins to relax and decides to light up the joint.

He takes a deep inhale he lets the smoke invade his lungs he holds it then comes a agitated exhale a cloud of smoke tries to occupy the vast outdoors he watches it evaporate. Levi is now stuck on Orange and red the burning amber lights up the air around it the more he breathes in, the more the light explodes Its catches him looking, it traps him there he starts to follow its movements transfixed he dare not look away hopelessly trapped he gets lost in your own thoughts realizing that he is back in his bathroom staring at his reflection.
